How to Look Pretty Naturally Without Makeup

Putting on more foundation, washing your face twice a day, doing facial scrubs every week, buying that (damn expensive) special serum and the cream to go with… All these products promising you a brand new doll skin are NOT going to give you the expected results anytime soon.

The world of beauty is tightly chained with cosmetics. I have absolutely no problem with cosmetics, but I’m very concerned about the damaging effect of the massive amount of chemicals they contain.

Mineral oil, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Propylene Glycol, Phthalates, Parabens… There are dozens of dangerous ingredients used by cosmetic industries. They actually are so bad that they can dramatically disrupt your body’s normal function. We come from nature and our bodies were never designed to cope with toxic chemicals entering our internal systems.
When they do, (using face cream, shampoo, body lotion…) they cause abnormal chemical reactions, leading to cancer, endocrine disorders (affecting the hormonal production in the body), neurological problems…

With that being said, how about learning to look pretty naturally, without the help of makeup and toxic cosmetics?

5 tips to look prettier, glow more that are free, applicable right away, and that will make you a healthier person!

Sleep at least 8 hours a night 😴

First on the list, beauty sleep! If you compare the way you look when you slept 9 hours to a time you’ve had a 2 hours sleep night, you will agree on me saying that you looked ten times more attractive with a good night sleep.

We all have different lifestyles and different physiological capacities and needs, for this reason some people will handle better a 6 hours night sleep than others. BUT, in most cases, people who sleep less than 7-8 hours a night, are having a hard time to get through their day at some point.

Sleeping more will not only make you look fresher (because you’re simply just rested enough). It will also make a big difference on both your emotional state and your energy levels.

Try to sleep like a baby for a few days, and see for yourself!

Drink enough water💧

Coffee, tea, sodas… Those are drinks, yes, they have a liquid form. But they aren’t by any ways, hydrating your body. Most people don’t drink enough water through the day, myself included.

Our body is made up to 60% of water. This one is responsible for cellular hydration and optimal blood flow leading to a better nourishment of the skin cells.

How much water a day should you be drinking then?
Ideally, 0.033 x your weight = volume in liter.

Eat healthy 🥗

Avoid high glycemic index foods

Consuming too much high glycemic index foods (sugar, refined grains, bread…) is not doing any good to your glowing skin. When you consume those foods too often, your blood sugar levels increase at a faster rate. When your body receives more sugar than it can handle, insulin (a regulating hormone) spikes happen. Insulin spikes cause fatigue and fogginess. If you feel tired, you automatically look tired.

Prefer low GI foods such as fruits and vegetables, sweet potato, rice, buckwheat, oats…

Stay away from dairy

Since dairy is a very inflammatory food, it can trigger acne and other skin conditions you wanna stay away from. These products can trigger or worsen acne as milk contains precursors to testosterone and other androgens. They cause the hormone receptors in the skin to turn on the process causing acne.

Try to induce milk alternatives into your diet: almond milk, coconut cream, coconut yogurt…

Keep your hair healthy 👱‍♀️

A women with healthy and shinny hair wrapped up in a pretty hairstyle, automatically looks ten times better. Keeping your hair in shape and highlight it will draw attention to it. And since it will look great, people will see one more pretty thing about you.

SMILE 😄

I cannot count how many girls I’ve met who made me tell myself : “this girl is so damn beautiful, I really like the way she’s spreading joy and love…”.

I’m sure there are people you feel very attracted to, although they don’t really look pretty to you.

It’s who you are in the inside that makes you more attractive.
Masks off, be yourself and SHINE ♡
